Question by : Would someone who lives off the land be fitter than someone who is fit from the gym?
I know “fitness” varies, but who would be fitter… Someone who has lived off the land.. Eg forages themselves, hunts themselves, makes fire themselves etc, or a city person who goes to the gym?
I’m thinking the person who lived off the land, yes? For example, if they were dropped in some remote place and had to make their way back on their own, the land guy would be best, correct?

there are 2 very different factors to consider here – overall physical fitness and survival skills.
physical fitness would/could be the person who goes to a gym, and follows a carefully designed fitness course, while eating foods that are high in required nutrients.
survival skills would maybe go to the “land guy” as he would be more accustomed to the rural environment – but if he has only lived on a farm, and worked as a farm labourer, tilling the ground, planting seed, fertilising, applying insecticide etc – then those skills do not really signify too much, as regards survivalist skills as a “hunter-gatherer”
so the answer as to who would survive best if “dropped in some remote place” is the one who had any relevant skills, like archery (and can he make a bow & arrows), hunting (and does he have a suitable weapon), or has he been on a “Ray Mears Survival Course” (or similar training)
